How To Become The Ninth Class of the Freshman Leadership Academy

RECRUITMENT WEEK SCHEDULE

This year, we will be creating an engaging space for the freshmen class to enjoy the recruitment week events, while also learning personal and professional tools that can be utilized throughout their matriculation. The 2018 Recruitment Week will have three set goals: to garner support and interest from the Class of 2022 so that they're eager to apply, to set the standard and expectation of FLA engagement on campus that will be beneficial to all freshman students, and to create an environment where all freshmen feel welcomed, celebrated, and supported!

HEAR FROM THOSE BEFORE YOU!

Here are some tips and reasons to join The Freshmen Leadership Academy from members of the Eighth Class.

Nira Headen

FLA is a stepping stone to success at Howard and abroad. You gain a network and family that will push you to success. I have been blessed with 59 brothers and sisters who would go to war for me if necessary. I also have role models and mentors whom I aspire to be as great as. We are black girl magic and black boy joy personified.

Abigail Hall

Relax and be yourself

Taryn Wilkins

FLA has completely changed the way I see myself. I am much more confident and comfortable taking on leadership positions. FLA has given me the best mentors to help guide me through my freshman year.

Tahir Murray

FLA is an opportunity to network, to serve, and to make your voice heard on campus.

Abisola Atilola

Use recruitment week as an opportunity to meet more of your peers and to socialize with those around you. Even if it's uncomfortable, step out of your comfort zone; you'd be surprised by how many amazing people you could meet.
